Liens

When you have a significant tax debt, the government can attach your property by filing a lien in the county recorder’s office, usually on deeded or titled property. The lien acts as a court judgment and the government can come take away the property and sell it to pay the tax debt, or prevent you from selling or transferring the property until you resolve the situation. Many times after I begin to resolve your situation, the government will withdraw the lien in appropriate circumstances.
